SUMMARY:This position will challenge you to a variety of disciplines focused on vehicle calibration and engine control systems. Being self-motivated, you will be empowered to develop yourself as a dynamic engineering asset for MAHLE Powertrain.ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Lead, plan and deliver Engine Calibration Development and TestingConduct chassis/engine emission testing activities, including detailed analysis of test resultsOptimize calibrations to achieve tailpipe emissions, FE and drivability targetsPrepare technical reports, papers and presentationsWork closely with customers, suppliers and internal teamsAbility to adapt, integrate and work well with others is essentialMaintain a specialist working knowledge of new technologies as appropriate to the roleMentor junior engineers to assist in their technical career developmentObserve all safety rules and regulationsMust act safely and be responsible for the safety of others around the work areaMaintain awareness of and meet the requirements of the Company Quality SystemEmployee duties are not limited to those stated above, but are inclusive of any tasks assigned by supervisor/manager REQUIREMENTS: Minimum of a Bachelor's Degree in related field Detailed knowledge of internal combustion engines and testing techniques3+ years experience with engine calibration and calibration tools3+ years experience with tailpipe emissions testing and optimizing engine calibrations to meet legislative standardsKnowledge of Engine Management Systems (EMS) principles including the use of calibration tools and processesUnderstanding of current powertrain control system architecturesExperience working with OBD testing and calibrationKnowledge of legislative requirements for OBD, exhaust and evaporative emissionsAbility to work well under pressure and to strict time constraints, as part of a team or individuallyConfidence to clearly communicate effectively at all levelsSelf-motivated with the drive to complete tasks in a timely manner with appropriate attention to detailFlexibility with working hours and willingness to travel to customer sites for both long and short durations (including secondments)Knowledge of script writing capabilities for data reduction and analysisWorking knowledge of Matlab/Simulink analysis and simulation packagesExperience working with Ford processes and facilities is preferable For immediate consideration, -Apply Today!
