The Lansing State Journal, part of the USA TODAY NETWORK, is
seeking a consumer experience
editor to oversee the programming, production and promotion of
newsroom content on all platforms. The editor is responsible for
how customers consume and respond to content, including the use of
audience feedback to better engage readers. This journalist must
understand audience trends and be able to train
and encourage newsroom staffers in best practices. This is a
senior-level position on our leadership team.
Here's what you need:
Bachelor's degree in journalism or equivalent.
At least five years of daily journalism experience, some management
Digital expertise in alternative story formats, content programming
and leveraging social media.
Ability to lead and train journalists in retaining and growing
audience through idea generation, SEO, social media strategies and
Willingness to think differently and innovate new approaches to
Ability to multi-task and excel under deadline pressure, using time
efficiently in a 24-hour newsroom.
Skill at collaborating in a cross-functional environment and

This job includes some evening and weekend work.
