1915 W. Mount Hope Lansing, MI. 48910 Starting Date: Monday, August
15, 2022 Days/Hours per Week: 20 hours per week Salary: Dependent
on Teaching Experience Required Certification: 1. Michigan teaching
certificate for K-5 Elementary Education, or Secondary Visual Arts
Education (LQ) K-12 2. Demonstrated knowledge and understanding of
elementary school art education curriculum 3. Ability to work
effectively with students, parents, staff, and community to advance
student behavior and academic skills 4. Excellent communication and
consultation skills 5. Positive attendance pattern and a high level

sustained professional learning 2. Establishes and maintain
standards for student behavior needed to achieve a respectful and

of each student Performance Responsibilities: 1. Plan and prepare a
program of study to meet the needs and interests of the students 2.
Establish and communicate clear learning objectives 3. Develop
age-appropriate instructional strategies to achieve the art
curriculum goals 4. Demonstrate and assist students to use
different techniques and media to develop art works aligned to
their artistic abilities 5. Inform students about cultural and
historical influences on art 6. Provide instruction that encourages
students to understand and appreciate art 7. Encourage students to
express their own personalities and thoughts through the creative
process 8. Assess and evaluate student's performance on a regular
basis 9. Prepare progress reports 10. Provide feedback to relevant
stakeholders about each student's progress 11. Create a classroom
environment that is conducive to learning and is age-appropriate
12. Set and maintain acceptable standards of classroom behavior to
establish an orderly learning environment 13. Show students how to
properly use and care for materials, tools and equipment 14.
Monitor and maintain classroom inventory 15. Plan and present art
displays 16. Models professional and ethical standards when dealing
with students, parents, peers, and community. 17. Performs other
duties and responsibilities assigned by the building administrator
following guidelines outlined in the Employee Handbook and by the
