Job Description Job Description Position Summary: Engages
students in the teaching/learning process; works assigned schedule,
represents the College in the community, and performs other related
duties as required. Teaches assigned classes in accordance with the
policies of Terra State Community College, and within the schedule
of classes, following the course description, syllabus and/or
outline as approved by the curriculum committee. This position also
involves outreach with area physical therapy providers to establish
and confirm viable clinical sites/clinical instructors while
establishing clinical instrument tool(s) for appropriate objective
measures to ensure proper clinical authentic assessments for PTA
students/clinical instructors to utilize prior to terminal spring
semester, year 2. Essential Duties and Responsibilities: Plans and
teaches courses which fulfill the program's curriculum goals and
objectives. Remains current with subject matter and instructional
methodology. Maintains posted office hours in accordance with
departmental and College policies. Employs appropriate methods of
assessment to measure student performance in achieving course goals
and objectives. Participates in monthly PTA Program meetings as
needed. Communicates progress in the course to students in a timely
manner. Determines and submits students' grades in accordance with
established College policies and procedures. Supports the mission
of the program, division, and College. Provides guidance and
expertise to other programs, adjunct or clinical faculty. Performs
essential roles for clinical education preparation, outreach,
oversight, objective grading tool set-up, and learning management
system/shell development of clinicals II and III, prior to terminal
spring semester. Supports the Program Chair, including but not
limited to assistance with student application/interview process,
and completion of duties associated with program accreditation
compliance. Other duties as assigned. Supervisory Responsibilities:
None. Education and/or Experience: Associate's degree in physical
therapist assistant plus a Bachelor’s degree or higher in any
field; OR Master's degree or higher as a Physical Therapist. A
recognition of Advanced Proficiency in a relevant specialty for a
PTA or PT preferred but not required. Licensed or eligible for
licensure as a PT or PTA in the state of Ohio within one year
required. 3 years of experience of clinical practice OR experience
in teaching in a physical therapist assistant or physical therapist
program required. Experience in a variety of areas of teaching
required (academic, clinical, continuing education, in-service).
Experience with instructional technologies and learning management
systems preferred (Canvas, Blackboard, etc). 3 years of experience
as a Clinical Instructor or Center Coordinator of Clinical
Education preferred. Other Skills, and Abilities: Demonstrated
ability to work with a diversity of students including students
with special needs based on the Americans with Disabilities Act
(ADA). Ability to teach in a variety of content areas related to
the practice of physical therapy. Ability to effectively
communicate one-on-one, in small groups, and in classroom
situations. Effective verbal, written, and listening communication
skills. Effective problem-solving skills. Current knowledge and
skill in the use of information and computer technologies (e.g., MS
Word, Excel, e-mail, database) or proven ability to learn these
skills. Able to work independently and coordinate work with
colleagues and peers. Ability to work a combination of
days/evening/weekend schedules. Working Conditions and Physical
