Job Description:

The Business Intelligence Engineer is responsible for aggregating, analyzing, and publishing actionable data as it relates to R&D. The BI Engineer is also responsible for advanced SQL development which also includes understanding of data architecture and data modeling.Responsibilities:

• Create, test, and maintain ETL scripts that feed the Business Intelligence platform.
• Works closely with the senior management to ensure that all ETL processes are created, troubleshot and improved in an optimal manner.
• Ensures that the use of business intelligence applications enhances business decision making capabilities.
• Capable of executing advanced SQL development to create robust reporting tools.
• Tune databases and data models for optimum reporting performance.
• Design and implement processes for monitoring health of the BI platform.
• Design and implement processes for validating and verifying ETL processes.
• Participate in the incident management process as required to support overall issue resolution and system and/or service restoral as outlined in the Liquid Web Incident Management Process
  Skills, Competencies, and Qualifications:
  • 4+ years relevant experience
  • Advanced SQL development experience with both transactional data and data warehouse coding (dimensions, facts, merges, etc)
  • Experience developing data warehouses using Snowflake
  • Working knowledge in setting up and maintaining ETL environments using Snowflake, Stitch API connectors, and Python
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize, analyze, and disseminate significant amounts of information with attention to detail and accuracy
  • Excellent time management and organizational skills
  • Ability to work independently, yet closely with team members and management
  • Must be able to multitask and work in a fast paced environment
  • Bachelors Degree in Computer Science, Mathematics, or Related discipline or equivalent experience
    Preferred Qualifications:
    • Experience with Pentaho or like reporting engine
    • Experience with Pentaho or like reporting engine
    • Experience using and/or creating dashboards in Power BI
    • Experience with mySQL databases
