Under the direction of the Deputy Superintendent of Instruction, and in accordance with current policies and procedures, The Director of Mental Health & Wellness will supervise and provide support and guidance to Mental Health staff, monitor grant funding for mental health programing, coordinate, organize and direct support to local districts around PBIS, SEL, and Mental Health support services. Under the direction of the Deputy Superintendent of Instruction, and in accordance with current policies and procedures, The Director of Mental Health & Wellness will supervise and provide support and guidance to Mental Health staff, monitor grant funding for mental health programing, coordinate, organize and direct support to local districts around PBIS, SEL, and Mental Health support services. -- Masters--- degree in behavioral psychology, therapy, social work, professional counseling or a related discipline is required. -- Five (5) or more years of experience in behavioral health providing direct supports for children, adolescents, and/or adults is required. -- Two (2) or more years of experience in clinical or related supervisory experience is preferred. -- An administrative degree/certification in education or related field is preferred. -- Knowledge of school based mental health programs, universal screeners, MTSS, SEL practices, evidence-based practices. -- Knowledge of principles and techniques of mental health/social emotional assessment, consultation and service delivery models at all tiers of education. -- Knowledge of current acceptable behavior strategies including positive behavior and best practices. -- Knowledge of developmentally appropriate therapy methods appropriate to meet the needs of students experiencing educational difficulty in all age ranges -- Knowledge of resources available to students and their families. -- Experience with effective coordination of services and programs available, including community partners and agencies. -- Demonstrated skills with delivering effective presentations, facilitation, consultation, and coaching. -- Ability to collect, analyze and use data and research to improve program and service quality. -- Ability to effective plan, organize, manage, coordinate, and supervise programs, services, and initiatives. -- Ability to work effectively, make decisions and problem solve collaboratively within varied team compositions and stakeholder groups. -- Possess high level of discretion, confidentiality, and integrity in working with both internal and external stakeholders. Job Requirements:------------------ Provides direct assistance to and supervision of assigned staff.-- The director will mentor, coach, appraise and support professional development for assigned staff. ------------------ Develop systems and processes to support School Based Mental Health support, SEL, and PBIS support services that are sustainable over time.-- ------------------ Work collaboratively with local districts to allocate resources and ensure support is provided. ------------------ Completes resource mapping of community behavioral health resources to ensure a comprehensive, cohesive plan is in place to meet the needs of all students. ------------------ Oversees fund development efforts to ensure sustainability of programs and services. ------------------ Serves as a District liaison to various stakeholders and agencies (e.g., community support agencies, community leaders, MDE, etc.) to represent Ingham ISD. ------------------ Oversees ISD-level Behavior Network that function as a Behavioral Health Assessment Team (BHAT). ------------------ Monitor compliance of Grant rules, regulations and reporting requirements. ------------------ Facilitates and/or participates in the advisory, coalitions, and partnerships that promote mental health and wellness initiatives. ------------------ Work positively and cooperatively with local school districts, community agencies, and various professional organizations. ------------------ Ensures visibility and availability of programs and services to parents, students, educators, and community members. ------------------ Provides leadership and direction for mental health and behavioral wellness programs and services. ------------------ Participates in the selection and acquisition of appropriate educational resources and materials to support behavioral, mental health and social-emotional needs of students. ------------------ Consults with school personnel (at all levels), community agencies, and community individuals regarding mental health, behavioral health,--early intervention and other health and wellness initiatives, including policy development, program philosophy, goals, and plans. ------------------ Develop and complete required documentation, narrative reports and evaluation measures to ensure all program and funding requirements are met in an accurate and timely manner. ------------------ Other duties as assigned by the Deputy Superintendent of Instruction.
