The Assistant Operations Manager role is a mid-level leadership position, overseeing the Food Service, staff, Shelter Security, Custodial and AARP partners, and other units as assigned. This role will ensure on-the-job training, and monitor employee performance during all shifts (days, afternoons, and midnights) including weekends and holidays. Providing guidance and support in employee professional development plans to ensure success in their respective roles. Monitor and evaluate compliance in assigned areas. This role will assist in managing overall day-to-day support operations of the Shelter.

*Requirements: *

* Practices and models the Agency's treatment model, ethics, standards of conduct and procedures.
* Provides oversight and continuous quality improvement of support service operations (custodial, kitchen, security, volunteers).
* Ensures all actions are trauma- and TBRI-informed and abide by agency vision/values.
* Provides and documents weekly supervision and coaching for all direct reports.
* Evaluates and supports improved performance of direct reports and ensures performance evaluations for all indirect reports. Supports recruiting, interviewing, and onboarding personnel in assigned units.
* Conducts monthly meetings for instruction, training, and coordination on issues relative to team/participant needs.
* Reviews work responsibility of the group; problem solves with the group. Offers support, feedback, training direction and other assistance as needed, including auditing performance
* Meets weekly with the Operations Manager weekly to discuss scheduling, problems, solutions, and training issues and receive supervision.
* Assists Operations Manager in completing billing and reporting responsibilities.
* Ensures that all agency policies, site procedures and expectations for all assigned staff are followed.
* Provides necessary training and/or disciplinary measures to remedy problem situations.
* Supports Operations Manager in monitoring outcomes, reports, and billings with various grantors.
* Responsible for supporting participants to deescalate to prevent harm to themselves or others
* Responsible for teaching, modeling, practicing, supporting, and articulating the Agency's treatment philosophy
* Responsible for ensuring agency procedures and expectations are communicated to participant.
* Responsible for positive and professional interactions with participants, staff, volunteers, donors, and partners.
* Responsible for learning and accurately using the Homeless Management Information System as needed
* Committed to solving problems with participants and other co-workers to ensure a positive and productive working environment.
* Facilitate and document all safety drills/tests and actual incidents, including critical incidents, emergency plan drills or actual events and shift logs or report.
* Performs other duties related to the essential duties of the position and within the individual's capabilities as assigned by supervisor.

*Qualifications: *

* Bachelor's Degree in Human Services strongly preferred OR minimum of 6 years of experience in same or similar role
* Previous supervisory experience required
* Lived experience with homelessness strongly preferred
* Previous Commercial Kitchen experience preferred
* Previous Security experience preferred
