Mental Health Therapist ITRS- Benefits Package- Health, Dental, Vision, Disability, Defined Benefit and additional 457 plan available, Public Service Loan Forgiveness, time off and 13 paid holidays.










Responsibilities: Under the supervision of the Integrated Treatment and Recovery Services Outpatient Coordinator, this position is located at the Lansing Outpatient Office. The therapist serves as a Master's level clinician performing a wide range of treatment services within a specific program for individuals with substance use (SUD) and co-occurring (COD) behavioral health conditions which could include Medication-Assisted Treatment (MAT) supports. Performs psychosocial assessments, conducts individual and group therapy, and refers to programs and services in the community. May provide COD consultation to other agency behavioral health treatment teams. Will assess and direct consumer treatment options, manage case load, and prioritize high priority population admissions. Responsible for carrying out all activities of the program/sub-unit in such a manner that fulfills CMHA's mission, policies and procedures.

Requirements: Master's Degree in Social Work, Psychology, or related field is required or must be obtained within 60 days of application. Possession of an appropriate State of Michigan credential is required or must have applied for and be able to obtain within 60 days of hire. One year of experience (professional or paraprofessional) in treating or working with people with substance use disorders required or one academic year of graduate practicum/internship experience working with persons who have a substance use disorder preferred. Three years of professional experience working in the substance abuse field is highly desired. Must be a Certified Advanced Alcohol and Drug Counselor or must become certified within a maximum of three years from date of hire or change in regulation. Access to reliable means of transportation for job related use is required.

Conditional Employment Requirement: Employment offers for this position will be contingent upon the results of a background verification and credentialing procedure consisting of: Michigan State Police clearance check, Law Enforcement Information Network (LEIN) review, may include security clearance through the Ingham and Clinton County jails, verification of a professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, educational background check and verification of an acceptable work history.

Salary/Hours: $56,005-$63,571 annually with scheduled, annual increases that can result in a salary of $73,502 40 hours per week with at least one evening required.
