Responsibilities:--Located within in a Big Ten University town,
CMHA-CEI is seeking a dynamic Child Staff Psychiatrist within our
Families Forward (formerly Children's Services) program to join our
current group of psychiatrists. --Under the supervision of the
Medical Director, the Child Staff Psychiatrist will be responsible
for the delivery of direct psychiatric services for children and
youth ages 4 up to 18 with emotional disturbance. Duties include
providing psychiatric evaluation of children and adolescents,
medication review and management, and consultation and coordination
with other members of the multi-disciplinary treatment team.-- The
primary location for this position is the outpatient medication
clinic within the larger Families Forward outpatient clinic.
Responsible for carrying out activities of the program in a manner
that fulfills CMHA-CEI's mission, policies, and procedures.--
Opportunity to participate in education of residents and for
clinical appointment to Michigan State University Department of
Psychiatry. Requirements:--Possession of M.D. or D.O. degree and
successful completion of an accredited Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry Residency program required.-- License to practice
medicine or osteopathic medicine in the State of Michigan required.
Applicants licensed in another state will be considered, but
Michigan licensure required prior to hiring. Child and Adolescent
Psychiatry Board Certification preferred.-- Must have one (1) year
specialized experience working with children and youth with
emotional disturbance within the past five (5) years. Time in
residency training may be included in this experience. Must possess
a valid DEA certificate and number.-- Must be insurable through the
professional liability and malpractice insurance provided by
CMHA-CEI.-- Must be able to communicate accurately and effectively
in verbal and in written form.-- Demonstrated leadership and
excellent judgment required.-- Access to reliable means of
transportation for job related use required.-- Conditional
Employment Requirements:--Offers contingent upon the results of
background verification and credentialing procedure consisting
of:-- Michigan State Police clearance check, verification of
professional license, Medicaid/Medicare verification, Board
Certification, Controlled Substance license verification, National
Practitioner Databank verification, educational background check
and verification of an acceptable work history. May be required to
be fingerprinted. Must be able to pass a pre-employment drug

Salary/Hours:--Salary commensurate with training and
experience.----Flexible work schedule Monday through Friday, 20-40
hours per week.-- No-on call or nights.-- Potential for part-time
or full-time position. Potential for providing services to both
children/adolescents and adults if desired by applicant.
