Job Description American Traveler is hiring an experienced
Emergency Department RN for a Level I trauma assignment requiring
current MI RN license and multiple critical care certifications.
Responsibilities - Work in the Emergency Department of a Level I
Trauma, Stroke, and Heart Center with pediatric ED cases - High
patient ratios, typically 1:5-6, may be up to 8 during high volume
or holidays - Night shift, 4x12 hour shifts, 19:00–07:30 - Weekend
coverage required, with 3 weekends per 4-week schedule, which may
include any combination of days - Floating may be required to
pediatric emergency unit - Uses EPIC for electronic charting, with
EPIC experience preferred - No on-call responsibilities - Must
provide continuous IV and procedural sedation as needed - Triage
and acute care for both adult and pediatric emergency patients -
First-time travelers are accepted for this assignment - All
time-off (RTO) must be submitted at time of application; max of 5
days RTO per contract, and no RTO allowed during specified blackout
dates - Required to work 2 of 3 major holidays, with specific
requests permitted but both the day and adjacent day off not
allowed - Returning former core staff must wait 12 months before
reapplying - Local candidates are accepted under the same terms as
travelers Requirements - Active MI RN license required prior to
start; compact licenses not accepted - Current AHA certifications:
BLS, ACLS, PALS, TNCC, ENPC, and NIHSS - Level I trauma experience
required - Ability to interpret and manage dysrhythmias - 2 years
of ER experience preferred, will consider 1.5 years with strong
skills and required certifications - Proof of high school education
required for consideration - Experience with EPIC charting
