Undertake critical radiologic procedures under the guidance of a Radiologist, providing essential diagnostic information to aid in patient care. This contract opportunity is based in Sterling Heights, MI, offering a chance to apply your expertise in a dynamic healthcare environment. Responsibilities: Prepare patients for radiologic examinations by explaining procedures clearly and addressing any concerns. Review clinical requisitions and patient history to perform accurate imaging studies. Set up procedure rooms, maintain necessary supplies, and ensure all equipment is calibrated and functioning correctly. Apply appropriate radiographic techniques, positioning patients to obtain optimal diagnostic images while adhering to safety protocols. Administer intravenous contrast media when required, monitoring patients closely for any adverse reactions and providing immediate care if necessary. Implement radiation protection principles, including patient shielding and dose reduction strategies. Prepare sterile equipment and observe strict infection control standards. Maintain comprehensive documentation within patient records and Radiology Information Systems (RIS), ensuring accurate indexing and image quality within PACS. Collaborate effectively with Radiologists, confirming clinical protocols before imaging procedures. Support the education and training of new staff and students while upholding individual responsibilities. Uphold professional standards including clear communication, teamwork, and respect for diversity. Qualifications: Credentialed Radiologic Technologist with current licensure and certification. Proficient in various imaging techniques and safety practices related to radiology. Experience using PACS and RIS systems. Strong communication skills and ability to handle sensitive patient information. Capability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative team environment.
