K--STA I.T is actively seeking a Sr ETL developer /BI Developer foran immediate contract engagement with our government client.

Work Location: This position is hybrid.

Job Description:

As a Senior ETL/BI Developer, you will serve as a key member of the Data Warehouse Team. Your primary responsibility will be the development, maintenance, and enhancement of automated data warehouse applications on the Teradata Data Warehouse platform. Additionally, you will collaborate with other teams and stakeholders to ensure seamless coordination on complex, multi-team projects. Your expertise will contribute to the refinement of existing data warehouse policies and practices, as well as the proposal of new ones when necessary.

Responsibilities:

• Develop, maintain, and enhance automated data warehouse applications on the Teradata Data Warehouse platform.
• Represent the team and coordinate activities with other data warehouse teams on complex projects.
• Review and refine existing data warehouse policies and practices, proposing modifications or new approaches as needed.
• Collaborate with other data warehouse developers to ensure efficient ETL processes and optimal query performance.
• Provide end-user training and support as necessary. Required Skills:
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent technical study.
  • Minimum of 6 years of experience in creating Data Warehouse BI applications, including ETL/data mart development, reporting, dashboards, and information analysis.
  • Proficiency in SQL and Business Intelligence tools.
  • Experience with relational databases. Additional Skills:
    • Familiarity with the State of Michigan PMM/SUITE/Agile methodology.
    • Proficiency in SQL Assistant/Teradata Studio.
    • Experience in Data Replication using tools like Oracle Golden Gate.
    • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
    • Experience collaborating with Data Modelers and developers to optimize data design for reporting needs.
    • Ability to design applications considering data reconciliation, query/reporting performance, and analytical business value.
    • Experience presenting technical information to project stakeholders and facilitating discussions.
    • Ability to explain complex IT processes and solutions to agency clients.
    • Proficiency in drafting technical database models and maintaining systems documentation.
