Job Description:

Summary Responsible for leading the strategic, operational, financial and administrative functions of the Managing Director's office. This role serves as a trusted counsel to the Managing Director, Strategy & Innovation requiring a combination of focus and flexibility, as well as a willingness to play an active, behind-the-scenes role. This role manages various projects and initiatives from ideation through development, approval and execution. Exercises broad discretion and judgment in the acquisition of information and dissemination of the same. This role is highly strategic, facilitative, and execution focused. This role works closely with the Strategy and Business Lab teams as well with the leadership teams of the Business Units and Corporate Functions to spin up new initiatives, test innovative concepts, identify opportunities for internal optimization, and tackle ad-hoc projects. A substantial function of this role is to take loosely defined concepts and make them actionable and real, requiring flexibility, versatility, and perseverance. This role understands multiple perspectives of health care, government programs, nonprofit and for-profit business, operational issues and their impact. Role is uniquely designed to provide an ambitious candidate seeking deeper heath care experience and executive leadership exposure with direct opportunities to contribute, lead, and develop within Strategy & Innovation. Responsibilities/Tasks * Work with leaders to develop innovation capabilities and resources to source ideas and move solutions to implementation. * Prepare professional presentations, business cases, memos, project planning, reporting, and other materials for consumption by executive management and boards of directors. * Own the calendar for the Managing Director, Strategy & Innovation, ensuring an organized approach is taken to meet the requirements for deliverables and key projects. * Connect with key resources to develop ideas, best practices, and ensure diversity of thought in development of innovative solutions. * Drive accountability and authentic commitment to inclusive environment in support of objectives. * Conceptualize and develop potential new ideas/opportunities for improvements or new business development by proactively assessing the impact of emerging industry, economic & competitive trends. * Coordinate/orchestrate strategic projects or commitments within Strategy & Innovation. * Independent leadership and execution of special projects. * Proactive identification of issues that could impact the successful execution of initiatives. * Prepare and review functional reporting. * Support definition, development and deployment of initiatives, processes, committees, and enhancements. * Drive the effectiveness and organization of the Emerging Markets Strategy & Innovation teams. * Facilitate completion of enterprise requirements, such as annual and long-term plans. * This position description identifies the responsibilities and tasks typically associated with the performance of the position. Requirements EMPLOYMENT QUALIFICATIONS: Education_Or_Equivalent_Experience Bachelor's Degree in Strategy, Business, Finance, or related field required. Master's degree preferred. Combination of relevant education and experience may be considered in lieu of a degree. Experience A minimum of five years' experience, including any full-time graduate studies, with multi-faceted experience in the insurance industry, or relevant business experience which provides the necessary skills, knowledge and abilities. Direct experience with a health care organization or management consulting firm is highly preferred. Skills/Knowledge/Abilities_(ska)_Required * Demonstrated leadership abilities. * Demonstrated ability to work independently in the research, planning, development and implementation of corporate projects. * Ability to appropriately manage resources, budgets, issues, and risks for the successful completion of projects. * Highly resourceful with strong emotional intelligence, self-motivation, and strong analytical skills. * Ability to anticipate the issues and opportunities affecting the company. * Ability to manage multiple priorities, establish work flows and meet necessary deadlines. * Ability to effectively exchange information clearly and concisely, present ideas, report facts and other information, respond to questions and employ active listening techniques. * Ability to apply the principles of independent logical, analytical thinking to define problems, collect data, establish facts and draw valid conclusions. * Ability to comprehend the consequences of various problem situations and determine resolution or referral for appropriate decision-making. * Ability to establish rapport and maintain effective working relationships with both internal and external customers. * Ability to interact with others to build consensus and get decisions implemented. * Ability to work with and empower others on a collaborative basis to ensure success of unit team. * Ability to effectively present budgetary and/or cost information and respond to questions as appropriate. * Strong organizational and creative abilities. * Excellent project and time management skills. * Ability to manage and prioritize multiple tasks. * Ability and proficiency in the use of computers and company standard software specific to position. * Working_Conditions Work is performed in an office setting with no unusual hazards. Occasional travel required.
