Job Description:

  • ?Monitor/track legislation and develop, implement and maintain policies and procedures for compliance with any new regulatory safety programs.
  • Assess, develop and implement educational and informational programs to increase employee performance in and awareness of health and safety.
  • Create and conduct training and awareness programs (as required) for supervision and employees on LOTO. PPE, Haz Com, blood borne pathogens, forklift and other training as may be required to maintain compliance with company safety procedures or state/federal safety regulations.
  • Assist in the development, implementation and maintenance of company LMS for safety and health training programs to ensure compliance with regulations and company standards.
  • Work closely with Corporate Maintenance Project Manager on the people components of risk management programs.
  • Periodically conduct site safety compliance audits.
  • Set up and maintain data files to document and monitor company-wide safety performance.
  • Generate statistical reports reflecting safety performance with key company and industry measures including the Safety Scorecard. In addition, maintains files as relates to workers compensation/OSHA and investigate employee claims to determine liability.
  • Manage workers compensation process, files and claims to minimize loss to the company.
  • Provide guidance to operating divisions on health and safety related performance goals and metrics.
  • Provide statistics to recommend and track progress of annual management safety, OSHA and Workers Compensation goals.
  • Provide subject matter expertise and direction on health and safety best practices, regulatory issues, interpretations of standards and codes, and incident investigations.
  • Reviews accident investigation reports for accuracy and quality. Make recommendations for additional corrective actions when necessary.
  • Develop standards for locations to lead monthly Safety Inspections.
  • Coordinate the ordering and maintaining of safety supplies. (First aid equipment, disaster supplies, etc.).
  • Work closely with the site Maintenance Managers to develop, implement and maintain company's emergency response plans for all types of disasters. Ensures adequate drills, training are conducted and equipment is in place.
  • Work with supervisors to ensure uniform application for safety-related actions/discipline.
  • Develop standards and provide guidance to site safety committees.
  • Ensure that all projects completed by subcontractors and vendors follow proper safety programs.
  • Coordinate any industrial hygiene sampling as required, such as noise levels, to ensure safe working conditions.
  • Represent the Company on health and safety matters with industry associations, working groups and committees.
  • Additional duties as assigned

  • ?Physical Demands: Must able to sit for long periods at a computer. The position may require climbing stairways and ladders and lifting.  May occasionally be required to respond to emergency situations on any shift.

  • Work Environment: While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to an office environment and equipment and to a manufacturing environment The noise level in the office and manufacturing environments is average for office and manufacturing environments.  Up to 20% travel for site safety audits. 
?BASIC QUALIFICATIONS: 

• Degree in Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, Environmental Safety or other 4-year degree with 

equivalent experience, certifications and training.

• 4 years of related print industry experience. 

• Experience responding to OSHA on-site or desk audits.

• Thorough understanding and experience with managing and interpreting OSHA, federal, state and

local safety regulations.

• Ability to recognize hazardous situations and recommend corrective measures.

• Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills to gain commitment from operations/maintenance

on implementation of compliance programs. 

• Good computer skills, including MS Word, Excel, and Outlook. 

• Experienced in development and facilitation of safety training.

OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• OSHA and other safety certifications

• Past experience with multi-site responsibility is preferred
