Job Description:
Job DescriptionThis position functions as a lead Java/web
application admin/developer assigned to Michigan's Department of
Health and Human Services Health Services (MDHHS) for web and tools
application platforms. This position entails a high-level knowledge
in application development (Linux and Windows platforms), website
creation, architecture, software configuration and standards, and
secure web hosting environment, as well as a working knowledge
about certificates. The applicant is responsible for the processes
enhancing web hosting environments. This position is a medium level
technical resource and is held accountable for the integrity of web
application platforms. This position's responsibilities include
maintenance and deployment of systems such as Birth Registry
System, Electronic Death Records System, and Vital Event
Registration Applications. Position Summary: Participate in project
review meetings and project workgroups. Work with vendors to
design, plan, configure, and install COTS solutions and customized
software. Develop and enforce all policies and standards related to
the technical aspects of the Web Application Server platform.
Design and document IT solutions that are State of Michigan
standard technology. Analyze and resolve escalated issues with
departments and outside agencies' technical environment and hosting
solutions. Provide professional technical expertise to the DTMB PMO
managers, client agency managers, and IT supervisors in project
planning, scheduling, and execution. Create, update, deploy, and
maintain systems and IT programs documentation, including system
specifications and flow diagrams. Design solutions for a specific
application need. Work with the business client to create test
scenarios. Provide defect tracking log entry information. Test the
database and associated design to ensure compliance with the
business rules which govern the database. Maintain and upgrade
systems because of tool upgrades. Document and analyze identified
problems to determine root cause and provide root cause analysis.
Work with vendors who provide IT solutions. Performs assigned tasks
for internal/external security and standards review and
development. Identify potential impacts of changes. Research, test,
and recommend new development tools, languages, upgrades, and
equipment as directed by senior team members. Perform Web
Application Server platform capacity planning and forecasting,
evaluate and recommend appropriate hardware changes to support
application needs Support resolution efforts dealing with
conflicts, connectivity, and security issues on Web Application
Servers Skills Description: 4 to 8 years of Experience in WebLogic
& Tomcat Must have WebLogic 12c, Tomcat hands on experience Must
have WebLogic, Tomcat installation and domain hands on experience
Installation and configuration of WebLogic/Tomcat domains including
clustering, Multi-data source, Grid link data source, Node manager,
JMS, Distributed destinations Deployment and troubleshooting of
JAR, WAR, and EAR files Performance tuning of WebLogic, Tomcat
Infra Applying of WebLogic/Tomcat patches and service packs
Troubleshooting logs, Thread Dump Analysis, Heap dump analysis,
Core Dump Analysis , log analysis Configuration of LDAP, SSL ,
Security realms and Work Managers Developing automation scripts for
WebLogic, monitoring, and administration Usage of WebLogic
utilities like WebLogic Admin, WebLogic Deployer, WLST Integration
of WebLogic, Tomcat with HTTP servers like Apache, IIS etc.
Linux/AIX commands and shell scripting Work with internal/external
vendors for application related issues and support
