Review and advise of changes in statutory law, case law, and legal practice as it pertains to the handling of claims and management of litigation. Participate in meetings, round-table discussions, and other collaborative efforts, providing others with constructive criticisms, encouragement and advice in the handling of individual claims.QualificationsLitigation Representative Qualifications RequiredBasic insurance course and medical interpretation courses required. Minimum five years' experience with litigated claims or less than five years' admission to the State Bar required. Extensive knowledge of claims procedures and practices and of no-fault coverage required. Knowledge of tort, workers' compensation and contract law pertaining primarily to the handling of claims and of medical terminology, anatomy and rehabilitation required. Extensive knowledge of insurance contracts written by the company, and ability to interpret insurance contracts required. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint required. PreferredBachelor's degree or CPCU preferred. Juris Doctor (JD) degree preferred. Designations in AIC, AINS or other insurance related designation preferred.
