Our client is seeking a security analyst to join their global SOC team. Analysts on this team will have the opportunity to learn the security tools that are in the environment, work through incident response and reports, threat analysis and have the opportunity to work on project-based work when shifts/ticket cue is slow. They recently transitioned to a new SIEM and automation tool - they have a number of large initiatives and projects across the security department and IT organization that will trickle down to this team. Prior experience as a security analyst or within a SOC is going to stack rank candidates higher than those without previous experience, along with the scripting experience. The tools + scripting languages candidates have experience with is not as important. The manager will entertain candidates that don't have previous experience, but if no prior experience the must have the drive, passion and knowledge of security operations concepts.Job PurposeThe Security Analyst is responsible for executing processes that prevent, detect, and respond to security events across the organization. The analyst will stay informed of advances in attacker techniques and implement improvements to tools and processes as needed. Additional responsibilities include identifying vulnerabilities and creating remediation plans. Ensure that SIEM tools are functioning appropriately and take an active role as a first responder to security alerts, assessing and quickly containing malicious activity. The Security Analyst will staff a 24x7x365 Security Operations Center (SOC) and must be able to adjust to a flexible work schedule when necessary. The SOC operates 24x7x365, with 12.5 hour shifts 3 days per week (37.5 hours) + 30 minutes for lunch. -If a holiday falls on the employee\'s planned day of work, they will be working that day. If notice is given, they are open to individuals swapping shifts/days to accommodate. They will be transitioning to working only days in the future, but a guaranteed timeline is not yet available.External Communities Job DescriptionOur insurance client is looking for individuals who are seeking to grow their career in security. This individual will be trained on many security tools and be exposed to all teams within the organization.Additional Skills & QualificationsKey attributes for their analysts will be teamwork/attitude/technical aptitude.
