THE OPPORTUNITY
This individual will assist the Plant Director in managing, directing and implementing operations strategies and objectives to ensure the achievement of the facilities goals. Responsible to manage and lead operations to ensure safety, quality, positive work environment, on-time delivery, customer requirements, and manufacturing needs are met. The Assistant Plant Director will provide oversight, leadership and motivation to direct reports that emphasizes safety, continuous improvement, quality, customer satisfaction, accuracy, productivity, cost reduction, housekeeping, efficiency, training, teamwork and morale. He/she will be responsible for assuring the manufacture of the required quantity and quality of products.

RESPONSIBILITIES
Assist the Plant Director in ensuring that launches are successfully planned and executed successfully and within with budgetary scope.
Manage, direct and implement operation strategies and objectives including essential elements of safety, on-time delivery, quality, and lean to ensure the achievement of the plant's goals.
Assists in developing and meeting the plant operating budget.
Directs and approves all requisitions for maintenance, repair of building, equipment, machine parts, and manufacturing supplies. Recommends and/ or makes improvements in machinery and equipment in manufacturing methods.
Controls allocation and use of personnel to ensure fulfillment of production schedules in all Operations departments.
Accountable for establishing and maintaining a culture of mutual respect and teaming; Leading the team in accomplishing the plant's goals and objectives.
Ensure that the business of the facility is conducted in an ethical manner and in compliance of Federal, State and Local Laws.

QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Operations Management, Business or other relevant field required; or equivalent automotive managerial experience on a 2:1 experience/education scale. Master's Degree a plus.
Ten (10) years of progressive experience in a Tier 1 or OEM automotive manufacturing environment.
Five to ten (5-10) years of hot stamping experience a strong plus
Proven leadership ability and people management skill.
Minimum of five (5) years progressive managerial experience in automotive management.

DESIRED SKILLS
Deep knowledge of plant management systems, productivity measures, safety and quality assurance; quality mindset.
Detailed understanding of automotive manufacturing processes: stamping, welding and coating.
Detailed understanding of the requirements of various customer and accreditation requirements, including TS16949, ISO14001, OEM requirements.
High level of communication skills both written and verbal.
A thorough understanding of employee relations, employee involvement, continuous improvement, lean principles and group problem solving.
Ability to make business decisions and to develop and lead a strong management team.
Strong skills in MS Office, SAP, customer and vendor systems.
